Happy Fall !!

I hope this enewsletter finds you and yours doing well and enjoying this amazing fall weather.  I just have a lot of little tidbits to share with you this month. Thankfully, God continues to bless me with lots of work, good health and a wonderful little gelding to ride.   Rippy got a new TW Saddlery Barrel Revolution Saddle and went on his first official off the farm trail rides. He makes me so proud.

Balancing the schedule is always a challenge but with Baley's help we are making it happen.  Most of my appointments for fittings are here at our farm in Crossville, but I am still working and traveling, just not as much. There are not enough hours in the day.  So that everyone we know has happy comfy horses, Baley has started doing appointments on her own too.  She has been working with me for a couple of years and has tons of experience with SS and TW saddles.  Since I always recommend only Authorizatized Specialized Fitters work on your Specialized Saddles, Baley completed her certification just to make it official.

HOW DO YOU STORE YOUR SADDLE?

Just like an English saddle with wool flocked panels, the cushions on the bottom of the Specialized and TW Saddles should not be sitting on a saddle rack.  I hang my saddles with a board going right down the middle of the saddle so nothing touches the cushions except the horse's back.  The 2nd option is to pad the saddle rack heavily. The cushions will last a very long time stored properly but the saddle racks can damage them.

Here is a little video about storing the Specialized/TW Saddles.  https://youtu.be/IF0yaHTOCQQ  Or search You Tube Fit Right Saddle Solutions   How to Safely Store Your Saddle

FAQ HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU HAVE YOUR SADDLE FITTED?

The text book answer is once a year.  We should be checking the fit of your saddle at least once a year.  Changes happen very gradually and are usually not noticed until we refit or something has gone really wrong.  In my experience, sometimes once a year is too long so I recommend every 6 months.  If we plan for 6 months and that ends up being a bad time, 8 or 10 months is usually fine but over 12 is usually not.

The beauty of all our saddles is that they can be easily be refitted to keep the horse and rider comfortable as the horse changes.  Horses change due to seasons, conditioning, life changes and health issues.  Proper prior planning prevents poor performance.  Put saddle fitting on your calendar like teeth, shoes and vaccines.

PAYPAL FEES

A while back I gave up credit cards because of the difficulty we were having with getting service to run the cards in remote areas.  On top of that the fees were getting out of hand.  The accountant said if I am going to use cards, I have to pass on at least the 3% fee (sometimes it is 4-5 %).  I don't like doing that so I elminated the cards but some folks like to use their cards so we still have the PayPal option with a 3% fee.

JESSIE'S RUN

We will be at Jessie's Run on Thursday, October 30.  Let me know if you want to be on the schedule.  The next trip to that area will likely be December.

THIN LINE WESTERN ENDURANCE FLEECE PAD IS BACK

We finally have these Thin Line pads back in stock. They are the perfect width for the Specialized and TW Saddles drop down rigging and the right thickness.  The blended fleece means no sheep died and they are made in the USA.

As always, that you for reading and sharing the enewsletter and helping me spread the word about proper saddle fit and how it affects our horse's behavior, performance and ultimately the health of horse and rider.

And last but certainly not least, thank you all so much for your kind words, thoughts and prayers.  I sincerely appreciate each and every one.

TTYS and God Bless!
