All Werner Christ horse products are made using geniune lambskin from southern Chile and Australia. Since the sheep are kept only outdoors, they develop a particularly thick, long-haired and beautifully soft fleece. The lambskins are gently tanned using only REACH-compliant EU products. The lambskins are by-products of the food industry and are processed under sustainable and ecological conditions. The unique tanning methods ensure the lambskin is kind to the skin, can be easily washed and are thus ideal for both humans and animals.
Werner Christ, German family-owned business with production facilities in Germany, Uruguay and the Philiippines has been making high quality leather and lambskin products for over 50 years. I have had my Christ girths and cinches since 2015. The stainless steel buckles are easy for me and my horses love them.
The Champ pads match up beautifully with the Specialized, TW and DP Saddles.

WERNER CHRIST RECOMMENDED CARE
Washing Lambskin Girths & Pads-Werner Christ lambskin products can be machine washed at a maximum temperature of 86 degrees in the wool wash cycle. Please make sure you do not overload the washer and the items do not spin too fast. Girths should be placed in a cloth bag.
We recommend Werner Christ C7 lambskin detergent. It is environmentally friendly specially developed for optimum results with their products. 30-50ml of C7 for each 10 litres of water if washing by hand or each washing machine cycle. Adding a standard fabric softener will also help maintain the leather's elasticity. The detergents normally used for textiles and wool are not suitable for washing lambskin items.
After the wash cycle you can dry your lambskin girth or pad in the dryer at a temperature up to 104 degrees. The leather moving around in your dryer will help keep it soft and elastic. Air drying in the shade is also an option, but you will need to pull your lambskin into shape while it is drying.
As soon as the lambskin is dry you can comb it with a lampskin brush to make it perfectly smooth again.
Daily: Air dry in the shade. After your lambskin pad or girth is dry you can brush it with a pet brush and/or curry it with a rubber curry to remove dirt and to keep it fluffy.
